Education

PNBA's Education Committee is made of of nine PNBA members, mostly booksellers, plus at least one librarian, and, we would like, one publisher or author. All the seats on the Committee are appointed by the Board, and terms on the Committee are for three years. Almost all of the Committee's work involves determining and producing the educational sessions that are held on the first day of each annual tradeshow, the same day that the exhibits are being set up. Education Committee members "meet" via email or teleconference during the spring and summer each year, and then in person at the show itself, the day after the education sessions, so that the Committee can review the success of the education programming, in hopes of making improvements in the future.

In exchange for service on the Education Committee, members may receive full reimbursement of their costs to attend the fall show. An explanation of the terms of eligibility to receive that reimbursement are included in the Guidelines for the Education Committee, which are posted separately on this page. PNBA invites employees of any current member store to ask to be considered for membership on the Committee by contacting the PNBA's Executive Director or the Chair of the Education Committee.
