AJ Williams and KJ Williams of Rise With Us present

Bookselling: Conflict, Care, and Community in Bookstore Workplaces.

Picture
In the emotionally charged world of bookselling, conflict and burnout often go unspoken—especially for staff from marginalized backgrounds. This session introduces a restorative, equity-centered approach to navigating internal conflict, interpersonal dynamics, and workplace culture in bookstores. Participants will learn how to develop a "conflict philosophy" for their team, build practices that center repair over punishment, and create sustainable environments where care and accountability coexist. This is a healing, practical, and future-forward conversation for anyone who wants to create a more just and resilient bookstore space.

RISE WITH US equips organizations to navigate internal conflicts by addressing unresolved issues and fostering alignment around equity, inclusion, and decision-making. We empower teams to rebuild trust, strengthen work relationships, and enhance productivity through culturally adaptive leadership, restorative practices, and equity-centered strategies.
