Lyanda Lynn Haupt | Among the Birds: Field Notes from Cascadia | Skipstone Lyanda Lynn Haupt is an award-winning author, naturalist, ecophilosopher, and speaker whose work explores the beautiful, complicated connections between humans and the natural world. Her bestseller Rooted has secured her place among the ethos-defining nature writers of the Anthropocene. Her latest, Among the Birds, returns to the more-than-human world with a celebration of Pacific Northwest birds, collected from decades of curiosity, attention, and wonder. She is a winner of the Sigurd Olson Nature Writing Award, the Nautilus Book Award, a finalist for the Orion Book Award, and a two-time winner of the Washington State Book Award. She lives in the mossy green woodlands of the Pacific Northwest.

He writes a monthly humor column for The Salt Lake Tribune. His debut novel, Stitched, is a wry, big-hearted look at creating community and belonging in unexpected places and haphazard ways: with a high-stakes competitive quilting competition on the horizon, the Ogden Quilters Association admits two young gay men to their circle. McCann lives with his husband and son in Salt Lake City.

Lydia Millet| Fair Ones: A Double Novel | W.W. Norton Lydia Millet has written more than a dozen novels and story collections. Her novel A Children's Bible was a New York Times "Best 10 Books of 2020" selection and shortlisted for the National Book Award. Fair Ones tells the story of two 40-something women who lose their best friend to gun violence. As in her previous work, Millet creates compelling, nuanced characters, living (mostly) normal lives intersected by tragedies, both communal and personal. She lives in the desert outside Tucson with her family.
