Literacy Grant Requirements Grant applicants must be a current PNBA member bookstore. A 'donation' is defined as books, merchandise, or money given to a literary organization in a PNBA member state. A discount given on a purchase does not qualify as a donation. Stores may apply for one grant, up to $250 per show. Proof of donation must accompany form. Proof of donation may be a cancelled check, signed receipt or invoice, or letter of acknowledgement from literacy organization. A literacy program is defined as any project conducted by a not-for-profit organization for the purpose of teaching or encouraging reading. March 12, 2004.
